also known as UV filters, are
used extensively in cosmetic
products and some drugs. As
a result of ill effects of UV
on human skin, their uses have
increased enormously in recent
years. Most of the negative
effects of sunlight including
sunburn, light-induced cell
injury and skin cancer are induced
by UVB radiation (280-320 nm).
UVA radiation (320-400 nm) mainly
contributes to premature skin
aging and direct pigmentation.
